Technology Development Engineer

 

Place of work: Százhalombatta (1-2 days/week in Budapest MOL Campus)

 

Purpose of the position:

As a Technology Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the initiation and development of innovative projects, with a strong focus of process technology. You will apply your expertise in chemistry to both existing and emerging technologies, creating insightful decision-making materials. Leading project teams through key phases and managing stakeholder relationship will be vital to your success in role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Innovate and identify opportunities. Lead the identification of new projects and develop solutions in response to market demands, energy efficiency and CO2 emission reduction. Drive the exploration of alternative technologies and establish comprehensive business case for new initiatives.
  • Manage technology licensing. Evaluate, rank, and manage technology licensors. Prepare Invitation to Bid (ItB) documentation, incorporating inputs on licensor deliverables. Develop complex evaluation criteria and assemble insights from cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Facilitate decision making. Collaborate with experts to prepare decision-making materials, project execution plan, schedules, and cost estimations. Represent project goals during mandatory reviews, delivering presentations, and conducting thorough post-evaluation calculations to ensure ongoing project success.
  • Contribute to Process Engineering. Offer process engineering expertise during the design engineering phase of the project. Review and provide input on basic engineering design documents, participate in design reviews, and reinforce the business case with high-quality data to support the investment proposal.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering
  • Advanced English proficiency (Hungarian is mandatory)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Production or Process Engineering
  • Solid understanding of project management principles
  • Familiarity with refinery value chain, including relevant technologies and processes
  • Ability to comprehend key business drivers for project success
  • Basic knowledge of process modelling
  • Interest in renewable and circular economy technologies
  • B category driving licence
