Assistant Front Office Manager

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective communication within the department and ensure that the Front Desk Manager is kept well informed of any problems/queries that have arisen.
  • Report any problems/complaints to the Front Office Manager.
  • Ensure that all Front Office areas are correctly staffed and trained with a suitable team for their function, and to ensure that these team members can perform their duties to the standard required by the hotel and the company.
  • Maintain the security of the hotel, safety of staff and guests and safe cash handling practice.
  • Attend to any guest comments brought to their attention either directly or through the Front Office Manager, Duty Manager, Rooms Division Manager, General Manager or other Head of Department and to deal with these efficiently and courteously.
  • Greet and maintain an excellent working relationship with guests/clients and colleagues.
  • Ensure the Front Office operations are operating efficiently and effectively 24 hours a day.
  • Ensure that daily operation checklists are completed and assist the team when necessary.
  • Check with the Reservations Office to ensure that correspondence checks are made consistently.
  • Liaise with Guest Relations and Duty Managers to ensure VIP allocations are made, amenities arranged, and VIP guests met.
  • Ensure that any incidents logged in the Duty Manager logbook are updated in the relevant client files.
  • Take a proactive approach to the Front Office activities and anticipating potential opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel in a similar field
  • College/university degree in relevant field
  • Proficient command of English and Hungarian, any other language knowledge is advantageous
  • Digital literacy with Opera/Hostware hotel system knowledge
  • Professional self & corporate representation
